Hello, I'm Audrey.

I am on the faculty job market this year!

I am a final-year PhD student in Computer Science at UC Berkeley in the Sky Computing Lab, advised by Ion Stoica and Natacha Crooks. My research focuses on optimizing performance for database systems. Recently, I have been co-leading an initiative on automating performance optimization for systems and run a blog series on these efforts. I am supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, a Meta PhD Research Fellowship, and a Berkeley Chancellor's Fellowship. I have been named a Rising Star in EECS. My research has also received a VLDB Best Industry Paper Award and invitations to the Best of VLDB journal. Previously, I graduated with a BSE from Princeton University, where I worked with Wyatt Lloyd and Kai Li.

Industry Impact. Our research on contention in modern applications has been deployed at a number of database companies, including Meta, PlanetScale, and TiDB, and has also led to long-term collaborations with Google Cloud Spanner and YugabyteDB. Our work on optimizing cloud storage has been deployed at IBM. Our research on providing stronger transactional guarantees at scale is deployed on Messenger. Recently, I have been collaborating with Databricks, Datadog, and Meta on using AI to optimize performance for their systems.
